A major goal this year included completing Administrative Guidelines for all Board Policies for the Swartz Creek Community School District.  Before this task could be completed, a review of our current policies needed to be done.  Sixty-three policies were discovered that needed minor revisions, usually involving new state statute information or deletion of language that no longer applied to given situations.  We worked very diligently with NEOLA, a company that specializes in Board Policy development to make sure that our policy book was complete and up-do-date.

The following policies have been revised over the past few months.  Policy revisions that were voted on by the Board September 18th and October 6th are already posted on the district’s website.  Policies approved on November 10th will be posted in early December.  Policies approved December 8th will be posted in early January.  We anticipate that all identified policies in need of revision will be completed by mid-January.

Policies that received the most extensive revision include 5600, 5610, 5610.1 and 5611.  All new policies were identified and included due to either a change in state law, NCLB requirements, or because of strong recommendations from NEOLA.  Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions concerning these revisions.
