Safety and Security Reminders

In order to keep our students safe and secure at Gaines Elementary School, we ask parents and other adults to follow these simple procedures.

J When dropping off or picking up your child, please do so on the school side of the street.  Your child SHOULD NOT have to CROSS TRAFFIC!

J All students and adults must ENTER THE BUILDING THROUGH THE FRONT DOORS.  Please do not drop off your child on the playground side of the building in the morning before school.

J If you pick up your child at the end of the school day, please arrange for a safe place outside for your child to meet you.  If you come in to the building at the end of the school day, you are free to leave the building through any exit.  Dismissal is at 3:40 PM.  Parents are allowed into the halls at 3:35 PM (when the first bell rings).

J When you enter the building during the school day, please CHECK-IN AT THE OFFICE.  Visitors will be given a “visitor’s pass” when in the building.

J Please allow the buses to load or unload without interference.  At the end of the day, please allow the buses to leave the lot before you attempt to leave.
