Dear Parents: Throughout the year SCMS offers a variety of activities through our Intramural Program. We especially encourage sixth graders to get involved as the team sports offered at the Middle School pertain exclusively to the 7th and 8th graders. Last year, we offered flag football, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, open gyms, free throw tournament, 3 on 3 volleyball, bowling, dodge ball tournament and tennis. This year, we plan on doing the same activities, plus adding a special Speed Stacking Club to the agenda! This is an activity that can involve EVERYONE, and helps to develop mental awareness, hand-eye coordination and confidence all in this one program. Special ribbons, certificates and/or medals were awarded to the participants. To find out more information, view the dodge ball tournament power point, or look at our bowling pictures, you can check out our web site under Middle School that resembles the above picture. To alleviate paperwork, we encourage you to fill out the permission slip, attached and return to the Main Office, no later than September 18, 2009. This way, regardless if your child decides to participate in one, all, or none of the activities, I will have their permission slip on file. For a schedule of events, students can view the show case next to the main office, check out our website, listen to announcements, or email schiano@swcrk.org or call me (810) 591-1771. Please contact me if I can assist you in anyway! Thank you, Mrs. Chiano, Intramural Sponsor

Bowling will be our next intramural sport. We will be going to the Durand Lanes bowling alley right after school until approximately 4:15 p.m. Transportation will be provided by Swartz Creek School bus paid for by the P.T.S.A. All students must provide their own transportation home. There is a snack bar and vending and arcade machines available, of course, for an added cost. The cost for this after school activity will be $6.00 per person, per day, which includes:
Please check the days your child will be going to the bowling alley (they do not have to attend them all and if perhaps they signed up for them and were sick and unable to attend, they will get their money back for any missed games) and enclose the money (cash or check) along with the permission slip and return to the main office by Wednesday, November 25th, 2009. Thank you! Your intramural coaches: Mrs. Chiano Please make checks payable to Durand Lanes.
