                PARENT/CHILD EVENTS:

   *   parent/child activities hosted monthly
   *   create crafts
   *   play in the school gym
   *   share books


GROUP MEETINGS:

   *  presenters will cover almost any parenting and/or
       developmental topic.
   *  topics recommended by parents.
   *  child care will be provided by the SKIP staff.
   *  receive and give support to other parents who have
       the same challenges as you.

TOT TIMES/PLAYGROUPS:

   *  meet with other families with preschoolers in
       your area.
   *  children play with others and spend quality
       time with you.
   *  talk to other parents who have the same
       concerns.
   *  fun messy activities that you don't have to
       clean up.

SCREENINGS:

   *  Vision
          6 months-3 years: The Lions Club conducts
          screenings with MTI Photo Vision Screener to
          detect vision problems.
          3-5 years: Genesee County Health Department &
          SKIP Healthcare liaisons conduct screenings.
   *  Hearing
          Genesee County Health Department &
          SKIP Healthcare liaisons conduct screenings.
   *  Dental
          conducted by a licensed dentist through Mobil
          Dentist.
   *  Developmental
          include the Denver II assessment, Early On
          screening and Special Education evaluations.

PARENTS AS TEACHERS:

   *  Parents As Teachers is a family education
       and support program that begins before
       birth and extends through age 5.
   *  The program provides timely information
       specific to your child.
   *  You are involved in parent-child activities
       that encourage language development,
       intellectual growth, social development and
       motor skills.
   *  This Program will also strengthen your
       relationship with your child.
   *  Partners for a Healthy Baby curriculum will
       be used as support curriculum for children
       prenatal through 12 months of age.
