1.  Assignment #1: Email Ms. Pettit and introduce yourself.  Be sure to give her an email address she can use to reply to you throughout the year. August 1 September 1 September 12
2. Assignment #2:  Register for your text book online account.  Directions to register - Click Here.  Become familiar with the features on our book's online website.  You can also click on the picture of the book once you've registered. August 1 September 1 September 12
3.  Assignment #3: 

  Use the online textbook to read Chapter 1.  (Click on this picture of the book)

Be able to define key terms from the chapter and give examples of each of the 10 themes. 

Prepare a creative display of the 10 themes to turn in on the first day of class.  (25 points)

Students who fail to bring this assignment will be asked to write an essay on the 10 themes during class on the 2nd day of school.

4.  Assignment #4:  Our first concept unit is ECOLOGY (Chapters 50-55).  The Ch. 50 study guide is due Wednesday, September 8th .  The Ch. 51 study guide will be due on Friday, September 10th. The study guides are available on this website if you wish to download them and complete them prior to class.  Do not rush through the assignments just to complete them.  Use the reading guides to help you focus on key material AS YOU READ THE CHAPTER.  I will also pass out these study guides on our first day if you are not able to access them before school starts, but it will mean a lot of homework for you in the first week.

September 14 for Ch. 52		 Day of the Ecology Exam - No late work is accepted after a test over that material.  All missing work becomes 0 points.
5.  Assignment #5:  AP Biological Scavenger Hunt

This is a major project.  I strongly suggest you start on this before school starts.  It will be due one week before the end of 1st marking period.  (Mid-October)
