As promised, today we are releasing our learning modality selection form and further details about how learning will look in the fall. I am so proud of the teachers, administrators, and support staff that have worked so hard to bring these complex systems together. It is not easy to ensure that every family will get a solid choice in their child’s schooling for this year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we are here and we are ready to support your child as they prepare for an exciting new school year. The options that we are providing to our children assume that the State of Michigan remains in phase 4 or higher on the Michigan Safe Start Plan.
To help you make these important decisions, we are giving you several key resources. We have created a one-stop-shop for everyone at the following website:
Learning Modality Parent Resource Page
Here you will find 1-page, easy to understand documents that break down each learning modality (face-to-face, online, and blended/hybrid). We are offering ALL three choices to families this fall and this way you can select the learning program that works best for your child. In addition to these documents, you will also see sample schedules as well as our district safety protocols that will be in-place for our staff and students. Most importantly, please make sure that you complete the SCCS Learning Modality Selection Form located here:
There are so many questions and we are working to provide as many answers as possible without overwhelming our families. Please stay tuned for regular communications from the district each week. Next week, Wednesday, I will be sending out another round of communication which will include an FAQ document to address many of the questions we get on a daily basis. We are excited to get reunited with our students and we are gearing up for an excellent school year. Please ensure that you complete your SCCS Learning Modality Selection Form by July 31 so that we have time to get your child scheduled appropriately.
Thank you for your partnership!
