We are so excited to invite you to explore Swartz Creek Community Schools (SCCS). We view ourselves as the best-kept secret in public education as we offer world-class educational programming and opportunities while maintaining an individualized environment that is focused on family. As a district that celebrates the diversity of our community and students, we work hard to instill a learning environment that fosters success for ALL students regardless of their background. Here in SCCS, we educate the whole child and work very hard to partner with our families from the time children walk through our doors for the first time, to the time they walk across the stage as a graduate.
Thanks to the support of our community, we have recently engaged in updating our facilities to make them safer and also include the latest technology resources available. Students who attend SCCS have access to personalized technology to assist them in exploring their learning throughout the day. As a district, we feature state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) facilities that are second to none in the state of Michigan. Thanks to our partnerships with Kettering University, our students receive enhanced opportunities and training in STEM-related disciplines starting in elementary school.
Our elementary program includes two early elementary schools (Syring Elementary & Morrish Elementary), two upper elementary schools (Dieck Elementary & Elms Road Elementary), a K-5 elementary school (Gaines Elementary), a 6-8 middle school (SCMS), a 9-12 high schools (SCHS), and a virtual schools (Swartz Creek Virtual Learning Center). We offer an award-winning College Board Advanced Placement (AP) program for many of our students. In addition, we have partnerships with the University of Michigan through the DEEP program and Mott Community College that offer Early-Middle College experiences.
Extracurricular clubs and activities play a large role in the development of a person. We offer countless clubs and extracurricular opportunities to our students and families. Our Swartz Creek Performing Arts Center (PAC) has received widespread recognition in Genesee County as one of the most beautiful and state-of-the-art performance venues in the area. We offer numerous drama, band, art, and music opportunities to our children at all levels and showcase our students as they perform at the PAC. Finally, our athletic stadium and upgraded facilities, include turf playing surfaces and a brand new track and field venue that offer our community an asset that generates great pride.
While our programs and facilities are amazing, our greatest asset is our people. We have incredible staff and students that work collaboratively together each and every day. I encourage you to take a close look at what we offer and speak to any of our employees and families about what we do. If you have further questions or would like to learn more about our district, I would welcome the opportunity to meet you and speak with you.
