K-5 Family Involvement

“Parents play an integral role in assisting their child’s learning; and are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education at school.”

The Michigan Department of Education released a set of principles for schools to pursue during the COVID-19 pandemic with “establishing meaningful relationships as the critical ingredient.

Our elementary instructional leadership team has assembled and delivered learning kits (described below) to all K-5 student homes with resources that will generate engagement  for student learners in purposeful ways. The resources will include interactive reading, play and problem solving opportunities that families will be able to engage together with their child:

Parent Engagement - Resource Kit Introduction
Resources & Strategy Kit  - Part I: Literacy Skills

Resource & Strategy Kit - Part 2: Math Skills
Parents with questions regarding their kits and the targeted strategies connected with these kits should contact their building principal to get questions answered or receive help with launching kits with their children at home.
